Improvements to Council Chambers PA system
Customer's requirements
The public address system (installed by others) utilised for Council Meetings was poorly designed and installed. Both Councillors and public attendees had to strain to audibly understand meetings held within the chambers. If the loudspeakers were set to a level which was acceptable, further problems occurred when more than one Councillor used their desktop microphones, which sent the whole system into feedback.
Our solution
The solution to rectify these issues was a two-part process:
- Relocate and add new speakers to the venue. Zone the system into two areas - 1: COUNCIL 2: PUBLIC
- Add an audio processor to equalize and add dynamics to the space.
The council area required two rows of ceiling speakers, whilst the public gallery area was better suited to small "box style" surface mount speakers mounted from the ceiling. These were configured in a single line - 6 in total. We also added a new Peavey Digitool 8x8 matrix digital processor to control all inputs and outputs.
Customer Feedback
"Command Integration were a breeze to work with. After an initial meeting where we explained the problems we were having, they fully scoped the work required, the time it would take and all costs. The job was completed ahead of time and all equipment was installed professionally and with a minimum of mess. Post install configuration was completed and we were fully trained in operating the equipment. Bottom line for me is that I haven't had a complaint concerning the sound system since it was upgraded. The councillors can be heard, there's no feedback and the system is now reliable."
